Dreams

Do you pay attention to your dreams? I don't mean like Biggie's "Dreams of f'ing an r&b chick." I'm talking about close your eyes at night dreams. Do the things you see while you're sleeping mean anything?

I was talking to a friend of mine last night and she said something crazy happened to her. She's been suspicious of her husband's activities for a while and when she said her prayers before she went to bed she asked God to send her a sign if something was going on with him. That night, she had a dream that she was on the bus with her husband, their children, and his newborn baby.

She called me and asked what I thought the dream meant. She wondered if she should question her husband. I had no idea what to tell her. All I could say was I didn't know if dreams always have literal meanings. It could have meant several things, or it could have meant absolutely nothing at all.

I've had a lot of dreams over the years. There were times when I thought they didn't mean anything and it turns out they did. I once had a dream that a co-worker died and her supervisor was talking about someone having to do her work since she wasn't there. I came to work and she had called in sick and guess who had to do her work. It was a little spooky.

I know we've all had dreams of falling. Did you hit the ground? Some people think you'll die if do. When you dream of falling, it's suppose to be an indication of insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties. There could be something that is overwhelming you or stressing you out. I've actually had this experience. I had was given a project at work that I wasn't sure I could finish in time and I had dreams that I was falling all week long. I finished and did a good job, but I was stressed out the entire week and my dream reflected that.

So, do you believe there are hidden messages in our dreams? I'm not really sure. I would never tell my friend that she should believe her husband had a child with another woman because she saw it in a dream, but you never know. Anything is possible.

I slept so good last night that I didn't even have a dream. What does that mean?

I don't know what I think when it comes to dreams, but what I do know, is if she went to bed with suspicious thoughts about her husband, then that just carried over to her dreams. Just because we pray to God, and ask him to give us a sign, doesn't mean every vision we have is God giving us a sign about something. Sometimes we see what we want to see, and we tell ourselves that it's God giving us a sign or replying back to us. I believe in order for us to really receive that sign from God, we have to put away our own judgements, this way we can actually receive the sign from him without being one-sided about the situation.

Keep up the good work. I can't get to it everyday, but I do make an effort. See ya on the next 1

You make an excellent point and I will tell my friend what you said because it makes a lot of sense.

I appreciate the support.

You make an excellent point and I too believe in dreams, with all my heart I do. Those which show the message loud and clear as well as those where I have to search and decipher the meaning.

I could give you some examples but I don't want to put it out here on a blog, so if you feel like hearing about three in particular, feel free to drop me an email

Actually, the last reoccuring dream I had (last month), my leg kept getting snapped in half. It was weird and scary. I learned that it meant something hindered me from going forward in life.

When you ask God to do something does the devil interfere? My wife dreamed something about me once that I thought was ridiculous, but at the time I was spending too much time being lazy on the computer. I cut back on the PC time and increased the focus on her time and the dream split. So it may not be as literal as a newborn baby. It could be a new career or hobby he's treating like a new born baby. For the sake of the friendship you're wise to keep back interpretations.

Sleep - Rest. getting enough of one but not the other. Peace

I believe that some dreams...the most vivid are messages meant to tell you something, warn you about something or enlighten you. Some dreams on the other hand...mean absolutely nothing..We have to determine which dreams are which, I suppose.

Like s many others I too believe in dreams. @SLC, of course the devil interferes. Its just like when you hear a good word before you leave the church the devil has already snatched it from you. I believe that God gives some interpretaion of dreams, but for those of us who are without that gift, our minds must stay open to all possible meanings. We must look at our lives and attempt to put it into perspective. I too like your friend had a dream involving my other half and the dream confirmed my suspicion of him and someone I considered a friend. The relationship ended and I literally wished them both well because they deserved on another...one cheat for another cheat!
